The Credit Catch-22?

How does one goes about recieving a credit card if you have to have some type of established credit . Since i was 18. I've been turned down for credit cards left and right. Yes even Macy's cards. Im now 23. I would like to start looking into a car and somewhere down the line a house. Please Advice
