I filed for bankruptcy 3 years ago and was discharged. Today, I attempted to open a new bank account and was told I had an ';unpaid bankruptcy.'; What is that and how do I fix it?
The only thing I can think of is that I listed the collection agency instead of the bank that issued the credit card (or the reverse) and the one got the message but didn't communicate it to the other.
