We have a 2nd mtg that was charged off and the lender is refusing to work with us any longer, what can we do?

This lender set up a pmnt plan for us for 6 months to be able to re-fi and pay this off...however, we have been unable to find a lender to re-fi us. They are saying we won't be able to do anything for another year at most. Will this particular lender be able to take our home from us? This loan is a equity line of credit.
